Don't read unless you've watched or read LORD OF THE RINGS.

I just finished watching Lord of the Rings trilogy.  Its a great movie if you haven't watched it.  The evil is of horrible creatures that only care about death and good is dwarfs, elfs, hobbits, wizards, and humans.   The main thing to this whole quest and the reason of the title of the trilogy is a ring.  Its gold with writing on it that can only be seen in the proper light.  With this ring it rules all of the other rings given to various groups of creatures.  The deal is that this ring is evil and cares for nothing of life only death.

With evil they destroy anything that is good and love to work in darkness.  They hate the light and the sun that gives warmth to everyone that is good.

The Ring of Power is the main ring controls everything and of how creatures live their life.  Now in reality there is no true Ring of Power that rules over other rings.  Though in contrast, the devil and his followers like to work in darkness and secret.  They only care about is death and evil.  They don't know love or care for life.  When there is light from God they fear and tremble and leave for they can not stand to be in his presence.  The Lord is all good and no evil in him.  He cares for life and loves everyone and everything.  His power is stronger then evil.  He also has followers that work in light and is open and not in secret.  The followers work to let life live and knows the meaning of love.

We are all on the Lords side of light, life and love to do what is right and conquer the evil.  Though at times we are human and fall short of this quest and do something that is evil.  It is up to us to decide on what path we will on, the good or the evil?

Revised posting of May the Force be with you! STAR WARS 1-6

In a galaxy far, far away.... we find ourselves seeing some creatures and humans interacting with each other.  We learn of C3PO, R2D2, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker), Ewoks, Obi -Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Darth Sidious (aka Palpatine).

At times we may be a character in this realm of world, Do we let fear overtake us and get angry and become Darth Vader more of machine then human?  Are we lovable creatures like Ewoks or tall like creatures like Chewbacca with an attitude when losing to a game? Are we out carefree with no care in the world like Han Solo? Are we out for an adventure like Luke Skywalker?  Are we of political realm like Princess Leia Organa? Are we Obi-Wan Kenobi that is a trainer to someone else? Are we wise of council like Yoda? Are we so much want for power like Darth Sidious?

I'm sure wither be at home, school, work we can all be these characters that is portrayed in Star Wars.   As these characters we can either use the Force for good or evil.  Darth Sidious uses his power for evil and to get power and in a way gets Anakin Skywalker to see the evil be much better than the good and makes him Darth Vader.  Yoda and the council of the Jedi uses the Force for good.  Let us hope that we use the force for good and not evil.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Being a good sportsmanship!

"He is running down the court ready to make a shot into the basket.  His team is helping him by blocking the opposing team, so they can win the game.  Will he be able to make it in less than 10 seconds on the clock?"
Once when I was in high school I played a bit of church basketball, with friends close to my age at church.  I would come in my yellow jogging wear.  I was ready to play basketball, even though it was not my favorite sport to play but, I realize that being part of the team that I would help my team win!

Due to the nature of me wearing all yellow every time, I got the nickname, "Sunshine".  I would try to participate in all that I can do for the team.

Now the way it was played out then would not have been possible for TV or school viewers.  By what I mean is that I was given a handicap, sort a speak, when I had the basketball.

  • The opposing team would let me shoot 3 times in the basket.  If it went in the first time, great! If I didn't then I would get two more tries.
  • The crowd on both teams wouldn't give any negative or harsh remarks for what they were doing! They went along with it.
  • My team was a great help.
The coach was the president of Young Men (12-19 years of age) and when it looked like I could use a time at the hoop of shooting a basket he would let my team know and the opposing team would get the hint and let me try to shoot some baskets.

When it got close to the end of the season of playing basketball, I did a great and amazing job at throwing the basketball into the basket.

  • The coach yelled to my team, "Make a sun for sunshine".
  • My team would circle me like a sun down on one end of the court to the other end of the court.  Making it hard for anyone on the opposing team to force the ball out of my hand.
  • The score was close to being almost tied.
  • The opposing team was also on the deal of letting me dribble the ball down the court all the way to the other end.
  • As soon as I was within range of shooting the basketball into the basket, I did so and by doing so, I made my team win the game!
  • For making my team win, the next day during church services I was given a certificate "Most Valuable Player" with my coach teams signature on it.  For it was my deal of winning the game and I earned it.
If it was another type of environment, I don't think the opposing team or the crowd would have let this happen.   It just shows that showing good sportsmanship goes a long way and I'm glad that everyone wither it be the team players, the crowd, referees, and opposing team that it was possible for me to enjoy playing the game.

Showing bad sportsmanship is not good for yourself or anyone else.  It just shows that you are selfish, rude, inconsiderate, mean, etc.  It hurts your self image as a person and everyone you interact with.  It is sad when fights break out due to bad sportsmanship.

We don't need to fall into being bad sportsmanship.  Let us show the example the way to be around us, even if we don't agree on the call of the referee.  If it gets to much then get up and leave the game and let everyone else enjoy the game.

"He shoots and scores and his team wins the game, 20-18!" The crowd goes wild and everyone is happy for him regardless of what team he is on!

Peer Pressure is a tough choice to make at times.

Peer Pressure is good and bad.  We all want to be included and have friends.  Though it sometimes comes to a decision at times of when we will let peer pressure win or lose.

  • Go to a movie that everyone loves to see or venture to a different movie instead?
  • Wear the latest fad of clothes?
  • Get the latest type of technology?
  • Use bad language just because everyone else is doing it?
  • Recycling trash?
  • Using bus/train/walking instead of driving everywhere?
I know that sometimes I have let peer pressure get the best of me and follow everyone else, but at other times I turn down the peer pressure and say No instead.

Its a hard thing in life involving with friends, society, family and will always be there.  Its our individual choice to decide of what we allow in our lives?
